About Yolanda

Your Multilingual Doula

When you are pregnant in a country that is not yours, you have an extra challenge. You don’t feel understood, you don’t know where to go, or what to do, or even whom to trust. I am here to change this so you feel at home.
Let me first share a few things about myself.

My Story

How I Got Started

The birth of my first daughter in 2009 opened up a brand new chapter in my life. I found myself challenged by my new reality as a mother.
I was delighted and relieved to discover a wonderful circle of female perinatal professionals eager to support and encourage me every step of the way.
So in 2012 I decided to train as a doula by the Greek Doula Association.
I was trained in a variety of topics:

  1. pregnancy, birth and postpartum training for doulas,
  2. childbirth education,
  3. breastfeeding basics
  4. first aid seminars.

And I was certified as a postpartum doula in 2013.
From then until a couple of years ago, my involvement as a doula was mostly on a volunteer basis, as I prioritized my own growing family.
This experience gave me valuable insight into the needs and preferences of women as they navigate through pregnancy, birth and postpartum to motherhood.
That is why since 2021 I have been ready to provide professional perinatal services.

“Yolanda was eager to answer all of my questions and give me evidence-based explanations, e.g. on how medical interventions may interfere with the natural processes of childbirth. I felt much more confident and calmer with her support.”

Amalia D.

"Yolanda was responsive and supportive from the very beginning. She listened to me carefully and shared valuable tips and evidence-based information on the issues we had discussed during our phone or video calls, mainly on lactation and baby sleep."

Nicole V.

"When I moved to Greece from Germany because of my partner's business, I was already pregnant. Adapting to the Greek health system was very stressful cause I couldn't communicate in Greek. I was more scared of not understanding the health care providers rather than the birth process itself. All that stress was taken away with the support of Yolanda and her expertise which made her presence at the medical setting the best choice I could make."

Mary B.
