Let’s meet doulas!

Doula in Greek means female servant.

It is a word coming from ancient times, when social structures were very different.Today, though, it has an entirely new meaning.
It is used to refer to female professionals who are trained to physically and emotionally support a person during pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Doulas provide evidence-based information on all aspects of this unique time period in life.
But their support goes further. They also provide comfort, encouragement and empowerment, as people transition from one stage to the next.
What sets doulas apart is that they focus solely on their client’s comfort and well-being. They are not health care providers caring for various patients. So, they remain by their client’s side throughout birth to offer them their heart and soul.

Their ultimate goal is to help their clients feel safe, heard, respected and confident in their role as prospective and new parents.
They do their best to make sure their clients will have a positive and empowering experience, even in the face of possible setbacks. An experience they will cherish for life.
Their valuable contribution can make all the difference when parents are faced with new situations they have no idea about.
Information, peace of mind and loads of practical tips are priceless gifts doulas have to offer.
